In a recent interview the quote was once again used, and as usual Storm P. as in other contexts was credited with the famous words – for instance in John Møllehave column collection “Before and after thoughts ” from 2008.which got a journalist thinking.
However the Storm P museum could not confirm kwhether it was the Danish cartoonist , painter, writer and inventor Robert Storm Petersen – better known as Stom P. But according to Nicholas Brandt, who is curator at Storm P. Museum in Frederiksberg , it is not Storm P. ‘s quirky mind that invented the famous phrase.
– Not according to the information we have at the museum. We can not actually know if he ever used it. It would not surprise me if he had used the quote after hearing it. But if we must prove it completely empirically correct , there is nothing to suggest that he should have used it, says Nicholas Brandt detector .
In the book ” The Black Swan ” from 2007. Here, the American baseball player Lawrence ” Yogi ” Berra namely quoted as saying : – It is tough to make predictions , especially about the future .
And in a footnote states the book’s author , the Danish nuclear physicist Niels Bohr as the man behind the quote. Niels Bohr is actually several times named by the author . In a lecture he was giving he was asked :
– What do you predict the influence of Quantum Physics will be on the world in the future? To which Bohr would have answered:
– It is exceedingly difficult making predictions , especially about the future. But according an eyewitness at the lecture Niels Bohr also explained that he had the quote from Storm P. A seemingly important clue turned up when a Storm P. drawing with the words ” Forecasting is very difficult – especially about the future ” .
But curator at Storm P. Museum in Frederiksberg Nicholas Brandt once again had to disappoint us, because whilst the drawing was a real Storm P. , the text was first written in 1958 – nine years after the artist’s death!
