Hope Peter Martensen doesn’t mind the title to this little post, but you can’t help thinking that whilst many argue that photography is post art, that Martensen’s art is post-photography.
One of Scandinavia’s leading contemporary artists, Peter has over the years explored the emptiness within the crowded, where by removing colour, replicating endlessly and then by removing the soul of his subjects, you are left with an abstract image of a world we thought we knew well.
He’s now exhibiting at Denmark’s premiere arts and photography exhibition, which you’ll find in the city of Hans Christian Andersen’s hometown Odense. Checkout the website here.
Essentially a typical Scandinavian expression, and now you hopefully better understand our stereotype!
