The 'Into the North - Live Well, Eat Well – the Icelandic Way' book is a cookbook of beautiful photos and culinary traditions from Iceland. Inga Elsa, an art director, and Gísli Egill, a food photographer, take the reader on a personal journey through the changing seasons. The recipes are old recipes, traditional recipes, and new recipes with innovative twists on old favourites.
The food images and preparation techniques are accompanied by images of the Icelandic landscape, and the selection of recipes include; spice-marinated herring with rye crisp bread, potato waffles with smoked salmon, rhubarb ice cream, chilli sesame salmon tartare, mussels in beer with dulse, skyr cheesecake with blueberries, liquorice meringues and blood pudding.
