Ancient Brooch – the ‘button for-runner’

Loading Updating cart...

This piece was originally found in Fåborg, Denmark and shows an unusual use of a female head. The idea of the design was a 'for-runner' for present day use of a button, holding clothing together. The rod was later replaced with one eye, which was pressed through the fabric and pierced by a wooden stick. The original is kept in Funen Museum.
