As you drive along the highway, through the ancient Viking Capital City of Roskilde, the speed signs tell you to slow down to a stately 80 km. Why? Because once a year, the town plays host to Northern Europe’s largest festival. 180 performing bands, around 130,000 festival goers, 21,000 volunteers, 5,000 media people and 3,000 artists – all in all about 160,000 partygoers in a field having fun.
Endless fields of tents and arenas, where festivalgoers chill-out and party for a full week. Entertainment comes in many forms, and the nude runs are always a highpoint!
In this magical place, the past and present meet and once again we gain a little insight of the people, who gave the world the Vikings.
