The harvest is in and the autumn equinox is approaching. But before we mentally brace ourselves for the long dark Nordic winter, let’s us celebrate the Sun in an artistic context.
The Guardian Newspaper recently voted the Top Ten artistic interpretations of the Sun and at #1 we find our very own Olafur Eliasson and his famous installation The Weather Project at the tate Modern in 2003.
If you’re looking for a more down to earth artistic interpretation look no further than Olafur’s new installation at Scandinavia’s most popular modern art museum – in fact most popular museum full stop – Louisiana. Here Olafur has literally recreated a small part of his native Iceland in the monumental Riverbed, which is a huge, sitespecific project, that reverses the relation between nature and art.
Set in the pictureque settings of Louisiana’s famous gardens and buildings, this is art that really mixes the emotions.
The Best Sun Ever!
